This is a space to define and elaborate on class "projects" that do not have a clear home under a topic. These projects could be ongoing or they could be specifically assigned for a class unit. What they share in common is that they can fall under any unit at any time.
Please let us know about any project suggestions you, as a student, think would benefit you or the class as a whole. I want to hear your voice!

Student Created Debates--students will design a debate question that relates to the topic we are currently discussing. After creating the debate question, they must provide at least 3 primary sources and 3 secondary sources (6 in total for the project) that fairly and equitably support both sides of the debate questions. The purpose of this is to give your fellow students sources they can craft their debate around. You must not show bias in putting together your sources, thus, you should have an equal amount of support for each side of the debate. An example of this is: US Entering WWI Justification Debate.
You will be graded using this rubric.
Article Analysis--students will find a newspaper, magazine, or online article that relates to something we have discussed in class. Student will complete 5 Double-Entry Journal entries based on the article. You will be graded using this rubric.
Review Board Game--students will create a board game based on the following expectations and rubric.
Online Review Game--students will create an online review game. They can choose from the following:
Cram--gem game using flash cards
Quizizz--interactive games--you can play live or assign a game as homework
Classtools.net--Create your own games and interactive activities at classtools.net
Quia--several different types of interactive game templates
Kahoot
Here is the rubric for the project.
Protest Songs--students will research American protest songs. They will explain the meaning behind the lyrics and how they relate to an event in history. The project can be found here.
Memorize the Presidents--This isn't really a project. I admit that. However, students will need to memorize all the presidents and be ready to recite them in class. Here are some suggested links to songs that might help you in this mission:
Yankee Doodle Presidents Song or Shorter Yankee Doodle Presidents Song
Amerikon: The Gathering--students will create trading cards based on a US History topic, event, or person to use in a game that combines elements from Magic The Gathering and Pokemon. The expectations and rubric is outlined here. The project itself is outlined as well under the website tab "Amerikon: The Gathering".
